BARLEY JUICE SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS




Good reports abound on the benefits of barley juice. Scientists have only scratched the surface in understanding why barley juice has helped so many. What is in barley juice? Scientists have found

An enzyme called P4D1, isolated in a laboratory in California in the 1980's in Barley juice. P4D1 was found to do two things in the human body. It is the first known substance to actually stimulate repair of the DNA molecule. It is possible that disease cells can be repaired with P4D1 so that when they reproduce they will actually produce good cells. P4D1 has also been shown in laboratory tests to eat the protein sheath off a cancer cell so that the white blood cells can attack and destroy them.

SOD or superoxide dismutase has been isolated, which is an extremely powerful 'anti-aging' antioxidant. The aging process has been directly linked to decreasing amounts of SOD in our system. Increased amounts of SOD cause our body to repair itself quicker. Additionally SOD acts as an anti inflammatory enzyme and cancer preventive enzyme. Pure Young Barley is rich in SOD - one of the richest sources available today. SOD converts a harmful substance called superoxide, into water and oxygen which is completely harmless.



Peroxidase was isolated which actually breaks down and neutralizes Try-P1 and P2 a carcinogen in grilled meat and fish and 3-4benzypyrene, another carcinogen in tobacco.



Observed were water soluble components in barley leaf extract which were very effective in lowering the blood sugar levels in high blood sugar mice, which would greatly benefit diabetics and hypoglycemics.



George Washington University, One study reported on the important substances found in barley leaf extract which help to inhibit platelet activating factor and to protect the blood vessels from damage. These substances are even effective throughout the micro-circulatory system, protecting the smallest vessels from damage.



In 1994, at the same University, a Vitamin E succinate was identified. This was shown to improve or modulate Prolactin and growth hormone. Prolactin is vital to breast feeding moms, so breast feeding Moms should benefit from taking barley juice. Growth hormone will benefit children and those that are overweight. This has implications in helping to improve immunological functions and slowing down the process of aging.



UC Davis, looked at the potential for barley leaf extract to degrade a common pesticide, malathion, in vitro. Six different experiments where performed to measure the ability of barley leaf extract to "detoxify" this pesticide. Every one of the studies revealed very positive results. This study leads us to believe that barley leaf extract may provide a cleansing, or detoxifying benefit when pesticide accumulation has occurred in the body. At the University of Davis - successfully identified a new substance in barley leaf extract which contains very impressive antioxidant properties. This substance is called 2'-O-Glycosylisovitexin. They have been able to demonstrate that it is more effective as an antioxidant than beta carotene or vitamin E.



UC Davis - successfully identified several of the characteristics of 2'-0-Glycosylisovitexin. They have now confirmed that it is water soluble substance, it is stable, both in high temperatures and within a wide range of pH. It is also very effective as an antioxidant in lipid peroxidation caused by ultra violet irradiation. This confirms our earlier hypotheses that 2'-0-GIV may play a preventative role in aging, mutagenesis, carcinogenesis and radiation damage.



It is also interesting to note that the majority of green products available for purchase today do not contain active 2'-0-GIV.



There have been a lot of anecdotal reports where children and overweight people benefited from barley juice. Fatty Acid Oxidase, cytochrome oxidase, peroxidase, Catalase and Transhydrogenase are enzymes found in barley juice that help the decomposition of fats in the body proceed smoothly which also helps to promote correct body weight, without these enzymes, weight gain results.

DIETARY FIBER



Introduction



Before 1970, it was believed that dietary fiber could not be digested, had no nutritional value, and served no purpose. However, about 30 years ago the incidence of colon cancer greatly increased in Britain, becoming a social problem, and this suddenly brought dietary fiber under the spotlight. Dr. Burkett, a British doctor, tried to investigate the cause of the colon cancer outbreak. First, he studied the incidence of colon cancer in each region of the World and found an area with no colon cancer: Central Africa. Then, he did comparison research between native Central Africans and the British in bodily structure, diet, life style, etc. The biggest difference existed in stool weight. The mean weight for a single stool for native Africans was 400-500 g, as opposed to 100 g for the British. Dr. Burkett concluded that the difference came from diet. In those days, fast food became prevalent in Britain and people’s diets began to change. On the other hand, Central Africans primarily ate tree roots, leaves, taro potatoes, and occasionally, the meat from animals they hunted. In short, they consumed much more dietary fiber than the British. Dr. Burkett discovered that stool weight was in inverse proportion to the incidence of colon cancer. Through later research, dietary fiber was found to be extremely effective for regulating bowel movement. Since then, dietary fiber has been termed the 6th most important nutrient following protein, carbohydrates, fat, minerals and vitamins. Also, researchers discovered that the quality of dietary fiber in a person’s diet matters more than quantity. The human body takes in nutrients from outside sources, converts them into energy and removes wastes. The key to maintaining good health is a properly functioning body that both takes in the good and eliminates the bad.

Cells comprising the human body are made from food and are thought to be exchanged in a 4 month cycle. The intestines play a major role in this process. The intestines absorb nutrients, get rid of residues, and finally are employed by the immune system. Dietary fiber slows down the pace of food absorption, decreasing the burden on the digestive tract, prevents absorption of excess sugar or fat, and helps remove body waste. Dietary fiber also facilitates proper immune system function by cleansing intestinal walls.



Constipation:



Does 50 percent of Asians suffer from constipation?



Although some causes of constipation are congenital factors such as weak or long intestines, the biggest cause is diet. Asians intestines are longer than Westerners’. The average length of the intestines is about 7 meters for Asians and 5-6 meters for Westerners. Asians tend to have a longer trunk to house the longer intestines which have evolved as Asians have a long history of eating grains and plants. In other words, their bodies are more suited to eating grains and plants. However, recently, the Asians diet has become westernized and includes more meat. Let us consider how the Asians are affected by this change. Meat is digested easily, liquefied inside the intestines, and its nutrients are absorbed quickly. Then excess sugar the body cannot handle is released into the bloodstream, causing a jump in blood sugar level after a meal. To cope with this situation, fat cells take the sugar in. This leads to obesity and also promotes the growth of enteric bacteria, which cause inflammation of the mucous membrane of the intestinal walls and upset proper intestinal function. Also, liquefied meat inside the intestines does not activate peristaltic movement. This, together with longer intestines, contributes to constipation among Asians. Constipation is retaining stool inside the body which should be eliminated. If stool stays for a long time inside the intestines, the intestines absorb the waste again and they get circulated in the body. This may trigger disease. That is why constipation cannot be disregarded. Deterioration in the intestinal environment is a cause for colon cancer as well.



Ideal Diet:



In the human mouth there are of 8 front teeth, 4 canines, and 20 molars. Canines are used for chewing meat, molars for chewing plants, and the front teeth are used for both. That is, there are 12 teeth used for chewing meat and 28 teeth for chewing plants. The ratio is 12:28 (3:7). What this implies is that our body is meant to consume meat and plants at the ratio of 3 to 7.



Ideal Stool:



The word “stool” in Japanese is “daiben,” which literally means “big letter.” It is a barometer for health. Ideally, stool should be shaped like a banana and have a shiny surface and be golden in color. The shiny surface indicates proper water content and the golden color indicates a healthy intestinal environment. If bacteria proliferates in the intestines, or stool stays for too long the color darkens. Dietary fiber gives food a jelly-like texture in the intestines. In that state, food is digested at a slow steady pace, instead of all at once. That is to say, there is no sudden increase in blood sugar level and no expansion in the size of fat cells. Also, you do not feel hungry easily. If your blood sugar level falls, you feel hungry. Dietary fiber also effectively absorbs wastes, carcinogens, excess fat, and sugar inside the intestines. Dietary fiber’s jelly-like texture stimulates intestinal movement and facilitates smooth evacuation of the contents inside the intestines. The edible parts of animals are mainly derived from muscle tissue, and do not provide balanced nutrients. Plant-based foods, however, such as seeds and fruits, directly contribute to the proliferation of plant life, and therefore provide the nutrients necessary for our lives and well being. We often hear that counting calories is not an effective way to diet. The key to successful weight loss lies in the quality of food we consume. If you eat easily digested food such as meat, blood sugar suddenly jumps after a meal. Natural Remedies for Kidney Stones... Barley help avoid stone formation... .


Kidney stones are mineral deposits made up of calcium, uric acid or the amino acid cysteine in urine found inside the kidneys or ureters. They are hard masses that can grow from crystals forming within the kidneys. They can be as small as a grain of sand or big as a golf ball. The reason of how these stones are formed is not yet surely known. Obesity and repeated kidney infections are also risk factors. There are natural remedies for kidney stones which are often enough to move a stone out of the body or dissolve a stone. Some of the natural remedies for kidney stones are given below.

  1. The best natural remedy for kidney stone is water. Keep drinking water even if you are not thirsty and active physically. Lots and lots of water for all types keep your kidneys flushed. It decreases, or dilutes, the concentration of substances that can contribute to the formation of new kidney stones or to the enlargement of existing kidney stones Drink enough water to make you have to urinate every hour or two, and the urine should look almost clear.

  1. Orange juice is one of the natural remedies for kidney stones, which will cause the tudes from the kidney to enlarge, thus passing the stone. Cranberry juice has been shown to reduce the amount of ionized calcium in the urine by over 50% per cent in patients with recurrent kidney stones. Keep drinking the cranberry juice to, to help flush your kidneys and water.

Magnesium and vitamin B6 is used by the body to convert oxalate into other substances, so these supplements reduce the risk of kidney stones Deficiency of these leads to stone formation, hence eating potassium rich foods through fruits and vegetables such as barley, potatoes, wheat flour, cauliflower and banana can help avoid stone formation. Glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate may also play a role in reducing the risk the kidney stone formation. Eat high fibre foods such as sweet corn, fruits and vegetables.

  1. Salt and sugar intake should be restricted. Consuming salt, sugar, animal protein and oxalate rich foods such as spinach, chocolate and nuts is linked to kidney stone formation. Avoid foods high in oxalic acid such as tomatoes, wheatgerm, spinach, carrots, peas, beef, strawberries, raspberries, almonds, cashew nuts, and chocolates and avoid sodium-rich foods such as pickles, tamarind etc. Avoid meat and consume more vegetarian proteins as they make the urine alkaline. Avoid alcohol tea, cocoa and caffeine and cola drinks.

  1. Apple juice is also a natural remedy for getting rid of kidney stones. Drink apple juice for two days, then at the end of two days drink 6 ounces of olive oil and 6 ounces of pure lemon juice, separately or combined. Drinking lemon aide every day also helps.

  1. Make a tea out of Watermelon Seeds. Just simmer the seeds in water until it starts to turn the water to color. Cool and add some sugar if you like. But it is difficult to drink without some sweetener. You may drink it hot like hot tea.

  1. An herb called Chanca Piedra helps to break up stones in the gallbladder and the kidneys. Daily intake of 25 grams of fresh juice of parsley 3 times and 30 min before meals is also a natural remedy for kidney stones. The balanced diet is must, avoiding too much dairy foods and mean, all those protein impede the natural kidney functions.

  1. Some herbs like asparagus root, birch leaf, couch grass, goldenrod, horsetail, lovage, parsley, and stinging nettle act as diurectics increasing urine volume, which helps prevent kidney stones. There are some pills made from milled herbs bound with water, honey, ginger juice, or other substances, which also helps to get rid of kidney stones.

Dr. Lorraine Day Tumor and Young Barley Grass Juice

The doctors told me. . .



"But they were wrong!" says Lorraine Day M.D. She was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and had a lumpectomy of a small tumor. But the tumor soon recurred, became very aggressive and grew rapidly. Yet Dr. Day rejected standard therapies because of their destructive side effects and because those therapies often lead to death. She chose instead to rebuild her immune system using the natural, simple inexpensive therapies designed by God and available to everyone, so her body could heal itself.

My Massage Trainings...

In our rural environment where doctors are few and expensive, most of us rely much on "Manghihilot" or quack doctors as they say.  The appreciation of their skill in giving us a traditional massage and herbal supplements made us think whenever we feel something not right in our physical well-being.  But as technology progresses and we reside in the urban area, we may still dependent of them but in their absence, we buy oil and lotion and personally massage ourselves or taking turns.  When the so-called wellness revolution starts, day spa flourishing like mushrooms in the City, it gives us really a relief!  We became spa addicts, whenever a new massage clinic opens we try their new services and were fully satisfied.  That made us interested in venturing of a massage clinic, my brother Sonny and sister Adah with her husband Howell puts up the first day spa in Iligan City, Body Line Massage & Spa Clinic. All the misconception of being another sex service establishment made us decide to study few variations of massage.  Though I am not with them yet as I do not have the money to put up an investment or for my own, I started learning some massage technology like the one we paid to Dermaline for P8,000, a 5-day training on Ayurveda Massage in New Horizon Hotel, Mandaluyong City.  It is truly an eye opener to me and more business opportunity running wild in my mind.



The training we had of Ayurveda gives birth to a dream, I would like to own a destination spa, to locate it in a very isolated area where my customers will not be disturbed, may it be in an island of my own or a big property along hills or mountain with streams, waterfalls or river along sides that my therapeutic offerings will be possible.  But before that, I would like to know what a day spa operation runs, and to maintain the quality of the services, a massage school must be established, that Body Line Training Institute was opened.  With God we trust that He will prosper us in our endeavor.  My sister Adah and Howell as my partners, so as to the silent financiers or investors, my sister Cristina and Cezar Climaco in New York, and a special investor who do not want to divulge its participation, we will dare to conquer and become the best day spa and massage school in southern Philippines. Fortunate enough, Spa Association of the Philippines, Inc. (SAPI) granted my sister Adah a CIBTAC Training on European Spa Operation and Management, on which she cascaded the training to the Spa owners in Iligan City and to us interested to learn.  Below are some of our pictures taken on our 1-month training on CIBTAC Swedish Massage with Anatomy and Physiology.

You will learn a lot from this clip, but you still need a certificate to use this skill for employment and operating your own spa or just simply doing it as part-time massage therapist, I suggest you study with us in Body Line Training Institute, number of our students are people who work abroad, OCW or OFW, they were the ones who inspires us for they informed us that this is one of the skills in demand and it really pays good!

Equipped with two trainings we took the TESDA National Competency Assessment for NC II Certification and we passed. To complete TESDA requirements for our school, again our group attended their AM/TM seminar.


Adding a new course for our school on HILOT Wellness Massage made me study again with ATHAG, an association of traditional Hilot practitioners lead by Maestro Boy, below is our class picture.


There are still a lot to learn for this massage business, and wellness industry is expanding, God willing, Body Line Massage & Spa Clinic and Body Line Training Institute would be known authority for people who are planning to put up their Spa business.
